After incessant rains, the Sirsia and Tilawe rivers have risen in Birgunj and various settlements of Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality have been inundated.

Rajeshman Singh, the head of the Birgunj metropolis, has personally reached the flood-affected settlements. Mayor Singh has instructed the concerned agencies to speed up the rescue and relief operations by conducting on-site monitoring of the flooded areas.
