Due to continuous rains, most of the areas of Birganj Metropolitan City are flooded. Due to the rain since Saturday, most of the wards of Birganj metropolis have experienced flooding due to accumulation of water.
Rajeshman Singh, head of Birgunj metropolis, said that there is a problem of flooding in various places in the metropolis. He said that although there was a problem of water drainage due to heavy rains, there was no loss of wealth due to flooding.
He said that due to the increase in the flow of water in Sirsia river, high vigilance has been adopted in the settlements along the river. He said that the settlements around the Sirsia River are being moved keeping in mind the possible risks. Chief Singh said that people are being shifted to other areas in Duban area of Ward No. 11 and 17. He said that the schools and hospices in Toll-Toll were opened and kept open to keep the affected people.
Chief Singh said that even though the Vedaha river dam, which was prepared some time ago, has worked, no major damage has been done so far. The local administration has also started taking necessary precautions. Chief District Officer of Parsa, Toynarayan Subedi, said that necessary vigilance and precautions have been taken throughout the district, including Birganj. He said that considering the possible risk, all the three security agencies are ready for rescue.

He said that arrangements have been made to keep the common people of Konia village in Dharamshala in case of flooding. He said that some houses in the rear of the integrated check post were affected. He said that if the water of Tilawe bridge comes to the other side, there is still a possibility of more risk.
Ajay Kumar Barai, the ward president of ward number 11, said that there is a problem in Sripur's new settlement due to continuous rain. He said that due to the flooding, more than 150 Dalit slum dwellers living behind the Agricultural Products Limited were kept in Dharamshala in Sripur.
Ward President Vijay Prasad Kurmi of Ward No. 24 said that the settlements on the banks of the Sirsia River from Savithwa to Thakurram Campus are at high risk of flooding. He said that there is a problem of flooding in Brahma toll, Manmohan Nagar, Jyoti Colony, Bajrang toll etc. He said that those affected by flooding in the ward were rescued and placed in the Kurmi Seva Sadan and Ramzan's Dharamshala.
Ward President of Ward No. 26 Shambhu Mishra said that there is a problem of water freezing due to lack of proper drainage. The meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee has decided to mobilize all the three security agencies for rescue operations in view of the possible risks that may occur when rivers including the Sirsia River in Birgunj cross the danger level.

The road blocked by a fallen tree on Birgunj-Pokharia road section in Vindwasini Rural Municipality-2 Gardaul has also been opened.
