Four people died in Sarlahi due to mudslides

Four people died after being buried in a mud mound on the bank of Hardi river in Sarlahi's Haripurwa municipality-1. Among the dead are an old woman and three children.

65-year-old Sayada Khatun, 6-year-old Saviwa Khatun, 8-year-old Dillu Mansur and 9-year-old Nargis Khatun of Sonma Rural Municipality-6 Magarthana of Mahottari are among those who died after being crushed by a mound while digging soil.

On Wednesday morning at around 9:20 am, local women and children were buried when a mound suddenly fell while digging soil with a shovel. 

As soon as the news of the incident came, a police team from the area police office Haripurwa under the command of the deputy inspector of police arrived at the scene and rescued the injured and sent them to the provincial hospital Malangwa.

District Police Office said that the four people were declared dead by the hospital during the treatment. According to the police, further investigation is being done on the incident.
