2 people were killed when the brakes of a bus failed and it went backwards and hit a motorcycle on an uphill climb near Churiamai on the Pathalaiya-Hetaunda road section of Bara. Similarly, 4 people including three minors have been taken to Hetaunda for treatment.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijayraj Pandit, Spokesperson of the District Police Office, said that the brake of the passenger bus No. 5 B 8537, which was going from Janakpur to Kathmandu, suddenly failed and collided with the two motorcycles behind it. When the bus was backing up, it hit a motorcycle numbered NA 12 P 3360 and Madhesh Pradesh 03-024 P 4495 going in the same direction .

Among those who died in the accident are 25-year-old Makeshwar Patel, a motorcycle driver of Na 12 P 3360 and 26-year-old Kavita Devi, who was riding behind the motorcycle of Madhes Pradesh 03-024 P 4495. The police informed that both people died on the way while they were being taken to Kalaiya for treatment. Kanchan Kumar Patel, the motorcyclist's husband, was injured.

Bus driver Sarlahi Lalbandi Municipality-3, 47-year-old Vishwanath Chaudhary is under police custody.
