The Rautahat police have seized goods and a truck brought in by evading customs. The police also arrested the truck driver.

DSP Raju Karki of the District Police Office said that Vinay Lama, resident of Galchi Rural Municipality-6 of Dhading, was arrested on Sunday evening with the truck No. 6K 562 carrying goods smuggled from India near the Boudhimai Municipality-5 Hanuman Mandir.

Customs evasion goods recovered 'The intention is to cover the occasion of Dasain by keeping the customs evaded goods in the truck and pass them,' he said, 'The owner of the baramed goods is being questioned. We submit the same to the customs for necessary investigation.'  

After skimming revenue from the Indian market, passing through Nepal's Narkatiya and Rampur khap checkpoints and storing them in Kopawa village, they loaded groceries, tobacco and clothes on a truck and were going to Moulapur when the district police team took control of the truck and checked it.

After it was discovered that the same customs had been cheated, the police started an investigation. The driver Lama told the police that he did not know anything about the customs revenue of the goods. The police said that the value of the recovered goods and the truck has been fixed at 47 lakhs.
