At a time when the government is encouraging inter-caste marriage, Deo caste-affiliated organizations are going to hold an international Deo conference in Saptari to minimize inter-caste marriage as a social evil.

In a press conference in Rajviraj on Friday, he informed about the conference that will be held in the Bageshwari temple premises until October 17, 18 and 19. The coordinator of the conference, Indra Narayan Dev, said that the International Dev Conference is going to be held to reduce the increasing rate of intra-caste divorce, inter-caste marriage, dowry, polygamy and same-sex marriage to protect the culture and traditions of the Dev caste.

"Inter-caste marriage affects the caste originality," he said, "by going to the house of those who are going to marry inter-caste, we apply social pressure, not the law above caste." Coordinator Dev said that to work effectively on these issues, the decision will be made after further discussions with the participants from Nepal and India. "Until now, our identity and history have not been established, we are the tribals of Mithila, even though we are a minority, the government has not arranged for reservation," he said. It has been informed in the press conference that the

conference will discuss issues such as creating ethnic identity and history, uniting ethnic groups, performing night-time weddings, two days for Shraddha and one day for feasting.

Bageshwari and Bhawani Seva Samiti Rajviraj, Virat Dev Seva Samiti Biratnagar and Dev Samaj Virtamod will be organized by more than 400 participants.
