Madhesh government in minority after withdrawing support from Congress

After the power partner Congress withdrew its support, the Madhesh government fell into a minority. On Wednesday, the Congress withdrew its support from the state government.

The Madhesh government currently has the support of only 32 MPs including 24 from the UML, seven from the Democratic Socialist Party (LOSP) and Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh. Janmaat Party has already decided to demand the resignation of Chief Minister Singh. In the state assembly meeting on Tuesday too, except Chief Minister Singh, all MPs of Janmaat were sitting on the opposition bench.

With the decision of the Congress parliamentary party on Wednesday, 72 MPs were seen in opposition to the state government led by Singh. 72 MPs are in the opposition, 22 from Congress, 19 from JSP Nepal, 9 from Maoists, 7 from United Socialist Party, 12 from Janmaat, one each from Nepal Federal Socialist, Civil Liberties and RPP. After the government falls into the minority, the process of the government will proceed again according to sub-section (2) of Article 168 of the Constitution.

Congress parliamentary party leader and state chairman Krishna Prasad Yadav informed that it has been decided to withdraw support from the government and call back its ministers. We are in party politics. The public opinion is sitting on the bench of the opposition in the parliament session," he said, "After the organization leaves the individual, we will also stay with the organization, i.e. the public opinion. That's why we have withdrawn the support from the government.

Earlier, the letter with the information that the public opinion has withdrawn the support given to the government has been informed to the office of the provincial head and the secretariat of the provincial assembly. But Chief Minister Singh has refused to resign. He is preparing to take the vote of confidence. However, with the exit of the Congress, there is no situation in which Chief Minister Singh can pass the vote of confidence. The race and claims to form a new government have started again. UML is at stake to protect the government, while the other power partner LOSPA is trying to form a government under its leadership. Since

, Congress, the largest party in Parliament, is also preparing to lead the government. Congress Parliamentary Party leader Yadav said that he is preparing to lead the government. There is still time left. Perhaps the Chief Minister who is leading the minority government will take the vote of confidence," he said. "Only then will we go to the process of a new government. This time, the Congress will lead by itself. The second largest party in the state assembly, JSP Nepal, is also ready to lead the government and is ready to move forward according to the situation, said chief whip Ram Ashish Yadav.
