The police have arrested Subodh Rai Yadav, the ward president of Parsa rural municipality-4 of Sarlahi, on the charge of being involved in the distribution of citizenship based on false information.
The District Administration Office registered a case on June 3, 2081 after it was found that Yadav had recommended and identified himself in the case of four people from the said ward who submitted false nationality and false information and obtained and tried to obtain Nepali citizenship from the District Administration Office Sarlahi. During this, Yadav was arrested by the police on Friday and submitted to the district court.
After the 15-day deadline was extended by the court, the District Police Office said that necessary investigations are being conducted and action will be taken against other people involved.
