'Government bases need to be self-critical and walk properly'

The Siraha administration has started the campaign 'Let us build our own office'. The officers of the District Security Committee led by the Chief District Officer started this campaign by inspecting the damaged offices on Thursday.
In the first phase, they inspected the offices of Sirha Municipality, Aurhi Rural Municipality, Navrajpur Rural Municipality, Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality, Sukhipur Municipality, Lahan Municipality and other local level offices.
Chief District Officer Basant Adhikari informed that the inspection was carried out with the aim of finding out which offices were damaged, how work is being done to restore them to full operation as soon as possible, and where support and facilitation can be provided. In this process, he asked the staff including the people's representatives and office heads to move forward with the goal of building their own offices and branches. "It's not to make anyone's face, let's move on from the situation we are in," he said.
During the Genji movement, 41 government offices, including ward offices, were vandalized, looted and set on fire in Siraha on August 24. In which there are 16 police offices.
Similarly, out of 17 local levels of the district, 10 were completely damaged and 2 were partially damaged. According to the District Administration Office, Siraha, more than one billion was damaged in a single day across the district. In this way, the office that was partially damaged by the attack has been fully operational, the office that suffered complete damage has also started partial service and work is being done to fully operate that office soon.
Similarly, during the inspection, he also warned not to consider the current disaster situation as an opportunity to earn money. He said that there is a need for self-criticism of the government bases and now they should walk uprightly.
'There is unrest in government bases, some people will consider it as an opportunity to earn money in the name of buying goods,' he said, 'But, we will have full surveillance on it, those who do good will be supported in every way, those who do bad will be punished.'
Pragya Adhikar also said that the attacks on the basis of personal and political motives are being investigated and those involved will be brought to justice. The
monitoring team included the Chief District Officer, Nepal Police, Armed Police, National Investigation Department and Nepali Army, along with heads of all four security agencies, media personnel.
