It is estimated that the Rajviraj Municipality of Saptari, which was destroyed by the arson during the protest, has suffered a loss of Rs 152.23 million. Protesters set fire to the municipality on Tuesday afternoon during the Zen-G movement.

The office of the Acting City Chief, Registration, Administration, Revenue, Tax, Social Security and Registration and Map Branch on the ground floor of the municipality was completely burnt down by the fire. Acting city chief Israt Pravin informed that branches of law, judicial committee, Prime Minister's Employment Service Center, women, children and senior citizens, social development, Sami project and debt project were also burnt down on the same floor.

The necessary documents kept in the branches of the second and third floor have been taken out and burned, and laptops, computers, printers, photocopy machines, fans and chairs have been looted. 3 tippers, 5 tractors, Scorpios, cars, excavators, CG rickshaws and two dozen motorcycles were destroyed in the fire along with an ambulance and two fire engines, small and large, kept in the parking lot of the municipality.

Even though some ward offices are operational after the fire, the municipal office is yet to be operational. "We are preparing to hold a council meeting sitting in the meeting hall that was saved from the fire," Acting Mayor Pravin said, "Our meeting has not been held yet, so we are still having problems managing it."
