Mother and son were found dead in Matierwa located in Lahan Municipality-1 of Siraha. 23-year-old Ranjita Chaudhary and her 5-year-old son Aron Chaudhary were found dead in Lahan municipality-12 Bhotia toll house and living in a dera in Matierwa.

Ranjita was found hanging in her room at around 11 am on Tuesday and Aron was found dead under the bed in the room, the police said. Aron is Ranjita's eldest son .

The police suspect that Aron may have died due to drug consumption. Similarly, his nine-month-old younger son, who was found alive in an injured condition, is being treated on a ventilator in a private hospital in Lahan.

The bodies of the dead mother and son have been sent to the provincial hospital in Lahan for post-mortem. Ranjita's husband Praveen Chaudhary has been working in a local plywood factory.

According to Lahan-1 Ward President Yugalkishore Chaudhary, Ranjita had been fighting with her husband for the past few days. DSP Kailash Rai, the head of the local police office Lahan, informed that a detailed investigation is being carried out regarding the incident.
