The opposition parties blocked the meeting of the Madhesh state assembly. In the meeting held on Thursday, the opposition blocked the meeting demanding the resignation of Finance Minister Sunil Prasad Shah.

Chief Whip of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal Ram Ashish Yadav demanded that the Finance Minister should resign as the state government had cheated the Parliament and brought the budget in the absence of the opposition. He warned the government to block the meeting until the Finance Minister resigns. The meeting has been adjourned till 1 pm on Friday after the MPs of the opposition party did not agree to the request of Speaker Ramchandra Mandal.

The meeting was boycotted by the main opposition JSP, Maoists, United Socialists, Nepal Federal Socialists and RAPPA. These parties also boycotted the all-party meeting in the morning.

The red book presented by the Madhesh state assembly was only 461 pages. However, it was found that the working group formed after the opposition blocked the Parliament and brought a budget of 350 pages . Since then, MPs from the opposition party have been protesting. The government passed the budget in the absence of the opposition. For this reason, the opposition party demands that the finance minister resign.
