Deepak Kumar Yadav, the former chairman of Mahadeva Rural Municipality of Saptari, has passed away. He was a 68-year-old resident of Ward No. 3, Bathnaha and was suffering from liver cancer.

His son Abhinav Yadav informed that former President Yadav, who has been receiving treatment at ILBS Hospital Delhi for a year, passed away on Wednesday afternoon.

He was involved in politics from his student life due to the inspiration of his father Visheshwar Prasad Yadav. His father played an important role in the movement against the Rana and the Panchayati regime.

He was elected to the post of president in the previous election and during his tenure, he prioritized the improvement of roads, water supply, schools and health institutions. His family, who is also the central adviser of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, will be buried on Thursday. He has a wife, son and daughter .

The rural municipality has given mourning leave on Thursday, expressing grief over the death of former chairman Yadav. Chairman of the rural municipality Sunil Kumar Mandal issued a condolence message on Wednesday and said that his contribution to the overall development and good governance of the rural municipality will always be remembered. In the message, it is wished for the eternal peace of the departed soul, and it is also wished that God will give strength to the bereaved family and friends to bear patience .
