The District Health Crisis Management Committee meeting has instructed all hospitals to prepare public awareness programs and treatment.

Diarrhea patients will be given first priority in all hospitals in Parsa.

In order to control the spread of cholera in the Birgunj metropolitan area, the District Health Crisis Management Committee has decided to give first priority to diarrhea patients in all hospitals of the district and to provide them with timely treatment.

District Health Crisis Management Committee coordinator and Acting Chief District Officer Suman Kumar Karki chaired the meeting of the committee held on Saturday.  In other decisions of the

committee, the committee has also decided to start a door-to-door public awareness program in coordination with all stakeholders for the prevention of diarrhea and cholera.

The meeting also decided to request the Birganj Metropolitan Municipality to manage the medicines and test kits required for treatment by Parsa Health Office, and to effectively mobilize the concerned groups including health workers and health volunteers to promote sanitation.  Diarrhea patients will be given first priority in all hospitals in Parsa.

The meeting also decided to intensively conduct awareness raising for the prevention of diarrhea, cholera and cholera with the coordination and support of security agencies, local levels, political parties, professional organizations, Nepal Red Cross Society, non-governmental organizations, media, communication personnel, and various donor organizations. 

The next meeting of the District Health Crisis Management Committee has also been decided to be held at District Administration Office, Parsa on Sunday at 3 pm.
