When there is no demand, large quantities of DAP fertilizers from agricultural material companies have started entering through Birganj crossing. At present there is no demand for DAP fertilizer for paddy crop.
Currently, there is a high demand for urea fertilizer. The two consignments of fertilizer being imported by the company from Global Tenter are currently entering through Viganj channel.
According to Durga Prasad Pandey, head of Birganj regional office of the company, since a week and a half, separate consignments of DAP malls, which are suppliers of Aditya Birla Company and India's IPL Company, have been coming in gradually.
Aditya Birla Company is bringing 30 thousand tons of DAP fertilizer while IPL is bringing 25 thousand tons of DAP fertilizer.
Since the last week of July, these supplier companies have been bringing fertilizer to the Indian border town of Raxaul railway station and Sirsia dry port.
Both suppliers are bringing fertilizer in two racks. A railway rack usually carries 2500 tons of fertilizer. Birganj Provincial Company will get 11,500 tons of fertilizer from the first consignment of 30,000 tons and 9,500 tons of fertilizer from the second consignment of 25,000 tons.
Pandey said that the rest of the fertilizer will be received by Bhairahawa and Biratnagar regional offices. Although there is no demand for DAP fertilizer at present, Pandey said that this fertilizer will be useful for the coming wheat crop season and sugarcane crop as well.
