Thapa said that this data was prepared after coordination with all 14 local level offices of the district. "In coordination with the agriculture branch of all the municipalities, we took the data of planting in the respective municipalities," he said. "About one and a half percent of Birganj metropolis and Sakhuwaprasauni Rural Municipality have been planted," he said, "There is a lot of planting left in other municipalities." Planting was done in this vicinity in previous years as well. He said that there will not be 100 percent planting in any year in the district.
Barkhe paddy has been cultivated on about 39,000 to 40,000 hectares of land in Parsa this year. Last year too, Barkhe paddy crop was cultivated in this vicinity. Paddy is the main crop of the district. Paddy is cultivated as the main crop in all the 14 local levels of the district.
