On Friday morning, a group attacked journalist Saurabh Yadav with a knife at Rajviraj Bazar in Saptari.
Two of the three people who came on a motorcycle attacked Yadav indiscriminately with knives, helmets and belts while he was standing in front of the southern gate of the hospital. Journalist Pravesh Kumar Mishra said that after being chased by eyewitnesses, the three fled on a motorcycle. He was at the scene.

According to journalist Yadav, Krishnanath Yadav, Raju Yadav and Rajbabu Jha, called Captain, are involved in the incident. He says that Krishnanath of Chinnamasta Rural Municipality-1 Birpur, Raju of Rajviraj Municipality-11 and Rajbabu of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-7 were involved in the incident.
SP Gautam Kumar KC of Saptari said that the knife attackers have been identified and the search operation has been intensified. "We have sent a team to control them," he said. After the
incident, Nepal Journalist Federation Saptari and Press Forum Saptari issued a statement and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and legal action. The incident has been expressed as an open challenge to the freedom of press and expression and the rule of law.
