The condition of the child who drowned in the Balan river on the border of Siraha and Saptari is still unknown.

14-year-old Ghanshyam Yadav, son of Shivkumar Yadav of Sakhuwanankarakatti rural municipality-3 Periyarpur, went missing on Monday.

He went to the river while playing on Monday morning. The police said that he went to the river to take a bath and drowned at 9:55 in the morning. The police received information about the incident at around 11 am.

Since then, the Nepal Police, Armed Police and local residents have been searching, but they have not been able to find him.

A diving team from Bardibas is also coming to search for the child, said DSP Kailash Rai, head of the local police office, Lahan.
