After receiving a complaint at the Ministry of Home Affairs that he had taken citizenship from both Nepal and India, District Administration Office Gour has started investigating the citizenship of Ramanand Prasad, Ward President of Pacharukhi Chatauna Village located in Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-4 of Rautahat. The administration has also written to the police for investigation.
Chief District Officer Vinod Khadka informed that the inquiry was started after receiving a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs on June 11 that Ward President Prasad had taken dual citizenship. We have called the ward president and completed the first stage of inquiry. "He has given a denial statement," said Prazia Khadka, "We have written to the district police for further investigation."
According to Prazia Khadka, Ramanand Prasad has submitted the citizenship of his descendants to the administration. He said that his father also has the citizenship of his descendants. Prazia Khadka said that the administration asked to submit the citizenship of the father as well. According to the administration, the complainant claimed that the photograph of Ward President Ramanand Prasad was in the citizenship of both countries.
It has been found that the details of the citizenship of both countries are different. According to the district administration office, Ramanand Prasad's name is not in the identity card issued by the Election Commission of India. Written by Pappu Prasad Yadav. Father's name is written Siyaram Prasad Yadav. On the other hand, Ramanand Prasad and his father's name Ramchandra Kapad Yadav have been written in the citizenship of Nepal. But the administration says that a complaint has been filed that the photo belongs to Ramanand Prasad in both.
The administration has also informed the Indian embassy. Prazia Khadka said that the photograph cannot be checked as it is the photograph of the ward president in the citizenship of both countries. Ward president Ramanand has claimed that the news that he is a citizen of both Nepal and India is false and a conspiracy of the opposition. I am a responsible public representative. There is no illegal work from me," he said. "I took citizenship based on descent. The opposition is going to assassinate my character in the society. He said that he is ready to face whatever punishment is found against him.
In May 2079, Ramanand Prasad was elected as the ward president from the CPN (Maoist Center) in the local elections. He has claimed to the administration that he does not have dual citizenship.
