Narayani Irrigation Management Office Birganj Information Officer and Engineer Suresh Prasad Sah said that in Feta Rural Municipality of Bara, canal deals were cut on Saturday, Pasaha river under Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city one and a half weeks ago and Matiarwa Chowk under Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city two weeks ago.

So far, only the northern deal of the canal has been cut. Sah said that because there is no irrigated area of the canal on the north side of the canal, there is no outlet there either. "Because the irrigated area of the canal is only on the south side of the canal, the farmers from the north side did that," he said, "because there is no light on the north side and even the lights of the vehicles cannot reach them, they succeeded in cutting the canal dill on the north side easily during the night." He said that although they are regularly monitoring Bara at night, the cutting is still happening. Shah said that although the two old cuttings have been completed, the work of completing the third cutting is still going on.
