About four quintals of ganja have been seized from Dakneshwari Municipality-5 Mahadeva Toll of Saptari on Friday. The team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, who were on patrol early in the morning, recovered the marijuana found in an abandoned state.
District Police Office spokesperson DSP Jitendra Kumar Basnet informed that 17 bags of ganja, which were hidden near the canal to be smuggled to India, were recovered. According to him, the weight of recovered marijuana is 396.9 kg.
Earlier on July 4, 388.73 kg of marijuana was also seized from the house of 40-year-old Rekha Kumari Mandal of Rajgarh rural municipality-3 Nargho Pachhwari tol of the district. Even then, the police found marijuana hidden in a toilet under construction and a bamboo grove to be smuggled to India.
