The east-west highway, which was blocked by diversion, has been put into operation. Lakshmiraj Joshi, Chief Police Inspector of District Traffic, Mahottari, said that the diversion made at the place where the bridge was being constructed was washed away due to incessant rain.

The highway was blocked from 8:30 in the morning due to heavy rain coming from the forest area located in Bardibas-5. Besides cutting about 30 feet of diversion, the wall also washed away the hump pipe in Lachka. According to the police, the road was opened after about 6 hours with the help of contractor company SWG and Rasuwagadhi Joint Venture.

In the morning, some vehicles in a hurry took a 40 km detour through Gaushala Road and headed towards their destination from Lakshminiyan Chowk, said DSP Vikash Bam of Bardibas.
