More than 2500 farmers have registered applications for shallow tube wells at Krishi Gyan Kendra Mahottari. More than 25 applications have been received in the application for the connection of sallow tubewell with a budget of 1 crore 65 lakh by turning the annual program approved by the Madhesh state government into drought relief.

According to the head of Krishi Gyan Kendra Mahottari, Devanand Rai Yadav, more than 2500 farmers have registered applications for shallow tube wells for irrigation in seven days. 70 lakhs for the entire district and 15/15 lakhs in Sonma rural municipality, Samsi rural municipality, Ramgopalpur municipality, Manrashiswa municipality and Aurhi municipality and 20 lakhs in Jaleshwar municipality for shallow tube wells.

'When farmers are in trouble due to drought, the budget in the office to distribute tubewells is low and the demand is high,' Chief Yadav said, 'In the budget allocated by the state government, only 75 to 80 shallow tubewells can be installed.' Chief Yadav said that after the demand for shallow tubewells was high, he informed the ministry and requested to increase the budget.
