A fire broke out in the district's first banana resort located in Ishanath Municipality-2 Auraiya of Rautahat on Saturday. Due to the fire, all the belongings inside the resort were burnt and destroyed.
According to Rakesh Gupta, the owner of the resort, the fire caused a loss worth around 40 lakh rupees. He said that furniture, refrigerators, agricultural equipment, food, electronic materials and a house built at a cost of 2.5 million were destroyed in the fire.
The fire was brought under control with the help of security personnel, local residents, armed police and municipal mini fire engines. Although it is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical short, the police said that the incident is being investigated.
People used to come to the district's first banana resort to taste various dishes made from bananas.
