Energy, Irrigation and Water Supply Minister Shesh Narayan Yadav inspected the stalled water supply projects. On Friday, Minister Yadav conducted an on-site inspection of water supply projects that were closed due to lack of maintenance.

A team led by Minister Yadav accompanied by technicians conducted an on-site inspection of the water supply project at Dhanusha Mahendranagar and another water supply project at Vishrampur in Mithila Municipality-5. During the inspection, Minister Yadav instructed the Water Supply Division Office Mahottari to bring the projects that are closed due to lack of maintenance into operation as soon as possible.

Sanjeev Shah, Head of Technical Water Supply Division Office, Mahottari, who participated in the team, said that after immediate pipelink and maintenance in both water supply projects, the water will be put into operation. He estimates that the cost of 4/5 crores will be required to complete the work of both the projects.

According to him, there is work to be done in the Mahendranagar water supply project including pipe link, pipe maintenance and arrears of electricity tariff. He said that the water supply project at Vishrampur will be put into operation after installing and boring pipes.

"It is necessary to bring the closed projects into operation immediately when the people are suffering from severe shortage of drinking water," Minister Yadav said, "Though the budget is not implemented now, we are making efforts to provide water to the people on time by repairing it with the internal resources of the ministry." Noting that there is a shortage of water throughout the province, he said that the government is working on priorities. He said that the boring connection work has already started.
