An emergency program will be implemented in 10 municipalities of Madhesh province.

Preparations have been made to implement the 'Start Fund Nepal' project under the coordination of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority and under the British government. In the first phase, the program will be launched in 10 municipalities.

This program, which will be implemented in 10 municipalities of drought-affected Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Siraha and Saptari districts, will be conducted for the next two months. More than 44,000 citizens of 8,355 households will benefit from the project, which will be conducted in coordination with

Start Fund Nepal and partner organizations. According to the authority, a total budget of 26 million 33 thousand 476 rupees has been allocated for the program.

This project is about to be implemented after the declaration of dry area by the state government and the emergency declaration of the federal cabinet. The program is divided into three phases. Under which, emergency water will be distributed to drought affected areas as part of immediate water supply.

As part of the mid-term solution, a feasibility study of digging deep boreholes, improvement of the existing irrigation system and a sustainable water system will be built in coordination with the government.

Similarly, as part of livelihood restoration, it is said that technical support will be provided for farmers in the 'Cash for Work' program, irrigation maintenance and alternative crop promotion.
