42-year-old Baleshwar Khang "Kaila" from Rupni Rural Municipality-2 Pauwan of Saptari woke up at 4 am on Saturday morning. And started charging his e-rickshaw. He was suddenly electrocuted and fell there.
After not seeing him for some time, his 38-year-old wife started looking for him. As soon as she saw Baleshwar falling down, she went to pick him up and got electrocuted. She also collapsed there.
Neighbor Rajendra Kumar Mandal said that 24-year-old niece Pramila Kumari, who went to save both of them after being electrocuted, also suffered head injuries due to electric shock. According to him, Baleshwar woke up at 4 am. 'The couple had died by the time the line was cut,' Mandal said, 'They have nothing in the name of property, now it is very difficult to support their two children.'
Village Chairman Dinesh Kumar Yadav who reached the spot said that the body was taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital Rajviraj for post-mortem. "We are saddened by the death of both people," he said.
Police Inspector Udayakumar Rai of the District Police Office said that further investigation is being conducted into the incident. "Legal procedures are being conducted at the scene and further investigations are being conducted," he said.
The deceased couple has two sons, 19-year-old Suraj and 10-year-old Niraj.
