An Indian youth has died and another is missing after drowning in the Wagmati river in Rautahat's Chandrapur-1. One of the young men who went to fetch water for the boll bomb drowned and another young man went missing.

The body of Pawan Kumar Sah, the 14-year-old son of Shivshankar Sah of village Jamuaha 1 Panchayat Mathia of Sitamarhi district under Bihar state of India, who drowned while fetching water from the Wagmati river in Nunthar, was found on Saturday. On Friday evening, Pawan Kumar Sah and 22-year-old Nitesh Kumar drowned while going to the river to fetch water.

After receiving information about the incident, a team of DSP Rupa Labung and Police Inspector Sonukumar Ram from the area police office Chandranigahpur reached the spot for investigation.

The search operation was started after the family informed the local police about the disappearance of both Indian youths. A joint team of the local police and the armed police found Pawan's body floating near the suspension bridge, about 150 meters south of the incident site, informed DSP Deepak Kumar Rai of the district police office.

He said, 'Pawan's family has identified the body. Another missing youth is being searched for. Pawan's body will be handed over to the family after completing the necessary legal procedures.

It has been found that people go missing in the Wagmati River every year while going to Bolbam and swimming. Even though the police has prohibited swimming in the area, it has been observed that the tourists who went for sightseeing are forced to go into the river.
