82 drug shops during monitoring in 7 districts

In the month of June, the Birgunj branch of the Drug Administration Department monitored the drug shops in 7 districts of the subordinate districts and found that 82 shops were defective.

According to the head of the office, Shambhu Sah, during this period, the staff team of the office monitored 113 drug shops in 7 districts including Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sindhuli, Makwanpur and Chitwan. Out of them, 82 drug stores were found to be in some kind of condition.

During the monitoring, 13 drug shops were found to be operating without registration, 8 shops were not registered with the Drug Administration Department, and 12 shops were found to be running without a professional/pharmacist.

Similarly, it was found that in 9 drug stores, the records of prescription and psychoactive drugs were not correct, in 15 drug stores, the drugs that should be kept in the refrigerator were kept outside the refrigerator or the refrigerator was closed when the store was closed. 25 drug stores with non-payment of bills and other technical problems have been alerted.

Out of the 13 unregistered drug shops that have been found, 3 have come under the registration process. Likewise, 34 of the 82 stores that have been reprimanded have corrected their mistakes. Chief Shah said that a case has been filed against 1 drug store under the Drug Act 2035.

According to Sah, the drug shops of Rautahat's Rajpur municipality were also monitored in the month of June. Among them, 3 drug stores there are ready to enter the registration process. In Rajpur-4, on June 5th, the team of Birganj Branch of Drug Administration Department had to face resistance from the locals.

In the month of June, 3 drug shops were monitored in Bara, 16 in Sarlahi, 24 in Mahottari, 22 in Dhanusha, 18 in Sindhuli, 18 in Makwanpur and 12 in Chitwan. Apart from Saptari and Sirha of Madhes province, 6 districts and 9 districts of Bagmati province namely Chitwan, Makwanpur and Sindhuli fall under the jurisdiction of this branch. According to the

branch, there are currently 5,865 drug stores registered within the working area. Among them are allopathic, Ayurvedic, Unani and veterinary medicine shops.
