Five people were injured when a pick-up and a motorcycle collided in Sarlahi's Ishwarpur on Monday. The motorcyclist was seriously injured when the fire broke out after the collision.
Ishwarpur municipality-12 and 13 no. A motorcycle No. 03-028P 2191 going from Srinagar to Banke and a pick-up No. 8C 65 going to Mahottari from Byalbas collided with each other near the railway track on the border of the ward. The police said that both the vehicles caught fire after the collision.
The motorcycle was completely destroyed by the fire and the front part of the pickup was burnt. 23-year-old Chandradev Dhami of Ishwarpur-15, a motorcyclist who caught fire after the accident, was seriously injured. According to the district police office, 85 percent of his body was burnt.
Prashes Choudhary and Amit Choudhary of the same place who were riding behind the motorcycle got injuries on their hands and feet. The local police office Kesharganj said that the condition of both is normal. Similarly, the driver of the pickup, Ram Ekbal Mahato of Hariwan Municipality-3, and Lekhnath Upadhyay of Hariwan-2, who was riding behind the pickup, sustained injuries in various parts of the body. It is said that their condition is moderate.
District Police Office Sarlahi informed that all the injured are being treated at Model Hospital.
