Road slopes overnight for fear of getting caught after overpaying for work

In the case of the employees and consumer committee of Bishnupur rural municipality of Saptari colluding and charging more than the work, more road slope work has been done overnight.

In the current fiscal year, the rural municipality has sloped the road in the Indian 'Koshi Colony' by spending more than 55 lakhs from the grant received from the federal government under the 'Tarai Madhesh Samriddhi, Basti Development Program'. After 'Kantipur' published news about the illegal slope work, the Abuse of Authority investigation commission started an investigation. After the authority sent a letter to the rural municipality demanding all the documents of the plan, the staff and consumer committee started the slope work on Saturday night for fear of being trapped.

They have also removed the inscription of the rural municipality. Ward president Parmanand Yadav said that the road was sloped to complete the budget. That colony is under the rule of India. It is not possible to work there against the law,' he said, 'However, despite the collusion against the law, they have taken less work and more payment, now they have increased the slope at night after getting trapped.'

When preparations were being made for the slope work in Ward No. 6 on Saturday evening, the ward president of the same ward, Yadav, protested and stopped the construction work. However, they forced the slope in the middle of the night, according to Yadav, the ward president. "I asked the CDO to help stop the slope work, but I didn't get it," he said, "I have already sent the video to the authority." Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal said further understanding is underway.

According to the Koshi agreement signed on 12th Baisakh 2011, India has acquired a total of 599 bighas, 18 kathas and 8 dhurs of land along with the western Koshi canal. In the 'colony' built by India for employees on the same land, the rural municipality has paid 55 lakh 82 thousand rupees for the slope of the road for 450 meters.
