After the Bishnupur Rural Municipality of Saptari was found to have paid more than the Indian 'Koshi Colony', the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission has prepared to ramp up more roads when the investigation begins.
In the current financial year, under the 'Tarai Madhesh Prosperity, Basti Development Program', more than 5.5 million grant money received from the federal government has been spent on that 'colony' and the road has been sloped.
The investigation started after 'Kantipur' published the news about the illegal slope works. On May 27th, after the authority sent a letter to the rural municipality demanding all the documents of the plan, they have been stockpiling construction materials since Saturday afternoon to slope the road for fear of getting trapped, and 'Wes' has also been prepared to slope the road.
However, Ward President Parmanand Yadav has been protesting since the evening saying that the decision to locate Ward No. 6 is wrong. "Why do you have to do more work on a plan that has already been paid for? I won't allow more work to be done," he said to Kantipur, "They have a plan to run slopes at night, but I have already informed them from the video to the authority staff and have also sent the video." Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal said that further understanding is being done on the matter. "According to the information I have received, those who are working have already moved," he said, "If they want to work further, we will proceed accordingly." According to the Koshi agreement signed on 12th Baisakh 2011, India has acquired a total of 599 bighas, 18 kathas and 8 dhurs of land along with the Western Koshi canal, and on the same land, the rural municipality has spent 55 lakh 82 thousand rupees on the 'colony' built by India for the employees. However, Yadav claims that the payment was made by making the slope less than 25 meters.
