Ashikuda problem affected the internal working of Birganj customs

The internal work of the customs has been affected by the problems in the Ashikuda server system in the country's largest Birgunj customs office for a month.

Ganesh Prasad Ghimire, the manager of Trans Himalayan Lodge Park, who is responsible for the operation of the integrated security check post, said that the company's operations have been completely affected by the problem in the Ashikuda link.

Usually the link is fine from 6 am to 12 noon and from 6 pm to 6 am, but the link is completely down from 12 noon to 6 pm during the peak work hours, he said. He said that since

cannot work throughout the day and the link will come after evening, the client's work has to be done in the evening. He said that the customs officers would leave the office after 6 pm, but the work of the customer had to be done in the evening. "There are some days when there is no work in the evening and the customer has to be called the next day to complete the work," he said. "The customer does not understand this technical problem, they only abuse us." He said that the effort of the

company is to create an environment for the cargo vehicles that try to leave after passing the customs inspection and leave in the evening of the same day, but that is not possible due to the problem that occurs in the server itself.

This server is in operation in the customs of more than 100 countries of the world. He said that the Birgunj Customs office has provided an interlink to connect the ERP server of the company with Birgunj Customs to its Ashikuda link. He said that since this problem occurred 4 months ago, an international technician came and solved the problem at that time. He complained that even after 1 month and 2 days, the problem has not been resolved. He said that although the company has formally informed the customs department about this problem, the problem has not been resolved.

Currently, about 700 cargo vehicles are leaving the Birgunj Customs daily after passing inspection. Rajman Tamang, President of the Birgunj Customs Agents Association, complained that there has been a problem in Ashikuda for a month, but it has not been resolved. "We informed the administrator of Birganj Customs Deepak Lamichhane about this problem," he said, "He has assured that the problem will be solved soon."

Amit Tiwari, Information Officer of Birganj Customs Office, claimed that there was no major problem as claimed in Ashikuda server. He admitted that there was a technical problem for about two and a half hours on Sunday afternoon.
