The police have arrested the absconding defendant in the drug (marijuana) case from Bardibas. Deputy Superintendent of Police of Bardibas Bikas Bam said that 36-year-old Fekan Sah Teli of Sarlahi Hariwan Municipality-3, who was going from Bardibas to Sarlahi, was arrested on Friday afternoon in Bardibas Sindhuli road section located in Bardibas Municipality-3.
Bam said that a joint police team deployed from the Bardibas branch office of the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Bardibas area police office arrested Teli, the absconding defendant in the drug case. Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Mahottari Heramb Sharma said that Teli, who was on the absconding list, was arrested on Friday after an arrest warrant was issued by the District Court, Mahottari, based on the statements made by Lalbabu Sah and Abhishek Pariyar of Hariwan-3 Dabri, who were arrested in connection with the investigation. Teli is under the custody of Bardibas area police office, said Sharma.
In the midnight of June 13th, in front of Shubh Swastik Hospital located in Bardibas-1, an Indian Scorpio coming east on the East-West highway, Ba 11 Ch. Lalbabu Sah and Abhishek Periyar were arrested while bringing 158 kg of ganja in 30 bags with Nepali number 3494. Although two people who were carrying seized marijuana were arrested, Teli, who was the main dealer, was absconding. During the investigation, both of the arrested persons gave statements that Teli was a ganja dealer.
Police sources claim that Teli, who was arrested, is operating a gang that smuggles cannabis to India from the districts of Madhesh province. Police from other districts including Sarlahi, Mahottari and Dhanusha also kept Teli under surveillance.
