A girl died after drowning in a pit created by a crusher

An 11-year-old girl drowned while bathing in a hole excavated on the banks of the Marha river.

Kareena Kumari Mandal, the 11-year-old daughter of the local Dinesh Mandal, drowned in the hole made by the crusher industry located in Gaushala Municipality Ward No.10 Jalil Toll, said Shailendra Kumar Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhatt said that while two girls were bathing together in a 5/7 feet deep pit on the banks of the Marha River near Kalibani Gitti Sand Processing Center, one person drowned. The rain water had accumulated in the pit that had been dug earlier. On Wednesday afternoon, local girls went to bathe in the frozen water to escape the heat.

After the girl drowned, the health workers declared her dead when she was taken to Gaushala Primary Health Center for treatment. Utam Singh Bhandari, police inspector of Gaushala area police office, said that the dead girl's body was taken to Bardibas Hospital for post-mortem.
