Soon after the incident, Arun was arrested by the police and registered in the case of kidnapping, body hostage, extortion and duty-murdering. Arun's father, 60-year-old Rajkishore Sah, and 51-year-old mother, Shushila Devi, who were involved in the murder, were absconding. Superintendent of Police Sharma said that the two fugitives, who were hiding in India and had come to visit their relatives in Nepal, were apprehended and produced in the court.
Based on a secret information that they were living in India and that they had come to the Indian border Jaleshwar-12 Nainhi to meet their relatives, a joint police team deployed from the area police office Bardiwas Mahottari and the district police office arrested the fugitive husband and wife in cases of kidnapping, body hostage, extortion and duty killing, Sharma said. It has been seen in the police investigation that Arun's mother and father helped Arun to hide the girl in a bush after killing her in a bag.
