Lahan Municipality's deputy mayor complained after buying gold and 'not paying'

A complaint has been filed in Lahan Municipality after Ramchalitar Mahato, Deputy Mayor of Lahan Municipality of Siraha, bought gold on loan and did not pay the money. Lahan-based Bikas Traders filed a complaint with the municipality on Sunday.

In the complaint given by Rajaram Sarada, the owner of Traders, Deputy Mayor Mahato has mentioned that on July 30, 2081, he took one and a half tola of gold worth 2 lakh 51 thousand 430 rupees. However, it is mentioned in the complaint that even if the money is paid within four to five days, it has not been paid yet.

Rajaram said that he was forced to file a complaint against Deputy Mayor Mahato after he was not ready to pay the loan amount even after repeatedly asking him. "He is a man in public office, we got tired of asking for money easily," he said, "but he has no intention of paying the loan."

Mayor of Lahan Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary said that he has instructed the chief administrative officer to submit the complaint in the municipality to the board meeting.

'It is true that there has been a complaint against our deputy mayor,' he said, 'I have asked to submit it to the board meeting.' Deputy Mayor Mahato responded that he was not aware of the complaint and that he understood the matter regardless of what happened internally.
