The road from Baghmorcha to Gamharia has been paved targeting Suvarnapur, a homestay village of Thori rural municipality-5, a major tourist spot in Madhesh province.
Earlier, even though there was a dirt road outside the village until the Hulaki road, the guests coming to the homestay were safe.
Shambhuram Paudel, president of Sunakhari Mediation Homestay Suvarnapur, said that the road was paved under the plan of the Parliamentary Development Fund. Under the multi-year plan, 2,900 meters of roads have been paved this year. He said that the currently constructed road has completely touched the homestay village.
The former chairman of the Homestay Committee, Bhim Bahadur Pakhrin, says that the recent expansion of the road network in Thori will greatly help tourism.
Homestay has been operating in Suvarnapur village since a decade ago. The homestay started with 5 houses led by locals and has now expanded to 15 houses. The homestay managing committee has been providing accommodation facilities to domestic and foreign tourists by arranging community buildings, jeep safaris, elephant safaris, cultural dances, etc.
The homestay is the first homestay in Madhesh province with the support of Parsa National Park, World Wildlife Fund's lake program and the government of Madhesh province. A significant number of domestic, Indian and third country tourists come here.
