Kanchan Rauniyar of Hariwan Municipality-9 of Sarlahi, a victim of domestic violence, is sitting in her house feeling insecure. Rohit Gupta alias Pati Munna is absconding. According to the order of District Court Sarlahi, father-in-law Satendra Gupta and mother-in-law left the house after he reached home with the help of police and locals a few days ago.

Kanchan, who is alone at home, is supported by father Hriday Ram and mother Sunitadevi. However, she is sitting in fear at night.

Kanchan, who was subjected to domestic violence due to dowry, filed a domestic violence case in Sarlahi district court after her husband Munna filed a divorce case. The district court ordered her to stay at home on November 14, 2080, not to be beaten, to be given food, and to be treated with medication.

In the meantime, she shared how many times when she was about to enter the house, she was beaten by her husband and not allowed to stay at home. Only a few days ago, Kanchan entered the house with the help of police and locals. But she is not able to stay at home with confidence . She complained that she has to live in fear that she will be attacked from somewhere at night and die. "I have been able to enter my house with everyone's help, but the fear of my in-laws is still there, I am spending the night in fear," she said, "I had to struggle for a long time to live in my own house." Kanchan, who fell in love with Munna through social media, got married with the consent of both parties. After marriage, the dream of both of them was to go abroad. According to that, both of them reached Kathmandu and got ready for it.

Their love did not last long after the dream of going abroad was dashed for various reasons . After that a dispute started between them . Kanchan has mentioned in the statement filed in the court that she started being tortured and beaten repeatedly for bringing less dowry.

Less than two months after that, Munna had called Kanchan from his mother's house saying that they should live together in the house.

After that, he told Kanchan to ask for 50 lakhs from his mother-in-law to go abroad, but after Kanchan took a stand claiming that he did not have the status of a father, he said that the dispute started again. Later, after paying 10 lakhs from the bank and 6 lakhs in cash, the problem was solved for a few days, but after she was beaten up again and kicked out of the house, she complained to the judicial committee on October 4, 2008. 

In the discussion on the 5th of October, it was agreed to allow them to stay at home and to register the marriage on the 6th. Immediately after that, relatives including Munna doubted Kanchan's character and forcibly took her to the hospital for a pregnancy test. "Even when I cried that I was menstruating, no one listened, even the sanitary pad was taken off and checked," she said.

After Kanchan's husband Munna did not come in contact on the 6th, the decision made by the judicial committee could not be implemented . Deputy head of Hariwan municipality, Harimaya Ghalan, said that even though the judicial committee had decided, the decision could not be implemented because the other party did not come on the second day. She said that she advised Kanchan to go ahead and fight the legal battle. But she said that she was also surprised when she heard that Kanchan's genitals had been examined.

When she was not getting justice from anywhere, she was neglected and victim of violence in her own home and was sick.

While another case was going on in the court, Munnalenai registered a fake marriage with Kanchan and put it on social media. Although the court has issued an arrest warrant against Munna and his brother Santosh, the area police office Hariwan has not been able to arrest them. Kanchan has become more haunted by the accusation of character assassination .

Kanchan complains that he is suffering even more because the police are unable to arrest the accused even though he has committed character assassination on social media. "The Morang district court has issued an arrest warrant for my character assassination, but the local police office has not been able to arrest them," said Kanchan, "even when the people are informed that they are at home, the police do not come on time, when the police come, they run away, because they are locals, the police are also supporting them."

She said that she was victimized by domestic violence. She claimed that she had no relationship with anyone other than Munna and informed that she was making various accusations to assassinate her character.

According to him, he complained that he had to face a case of indecent behavior for keeping Kanchan as his daughter. As soon as Kanchan arrives, he made a video and put it on the social network, so he informed that they left the house . He said that he could not give a large sum of money for the settlement and informed that there was no other option but to wait for the court's decision.
