On Friday, the police seized a truck on the east-west highway located at Chandrapur-4 in Rautahat for carrying more goods than the bill of lading. It is said that the price of the goods is approximately 46 lakh rupees.
In front of the traffic office in Chandrapur, the police patrol team deployed from the district police office and the area police office Chandranigahpur stopped and checked the mini truck No. 7 B 7676 which was going to Sarlahi from Birgunj and found that it was loaded with various kinds of groceries and clothes exceeding the bill amount, and the truck and the driver were taken into custody, said District Police Chief SP Netramani Giri.
'We are investigating how many goods were in the truck,' he said, 'We will send the truck and goods under control to the Revenue Investigation Office.'
The police have arrested the truck driver, 30-year-old Jai Das of Sarlahi Hariwan Municipality-9. According to the police, the value of the goods is approximately 45 lakh 56 thousand rupees. SP Giri said that the groceries and clothes loaded in the truck have been handed over to the Inland Revenue Office Pathalaiya, Bara for necessary action.
