Directorate of Agricultural Research, Madhesh Regional Office, Parwanipur, which is responsible for agricultural research in agricultural countries, is facing an acute shortage of staff. The lack of office staff, which is supposed to encourage farmers by researching new discoveries related to agriculture in the grain store Terai Madhesh, is itself in trouble.
There are a total of 78 employees in the office, currently only one and a half dozen human resources are working. Among them, 1 dozen are unranked employees. Research, seed breeding, external research, field work etc. have been affected by lack of staff. Director of
center Dr. Visheshwar Yadav says that this office, which carries a lot of responsibility, is troubled by lack of manpower. He said that the staff shortage in this center, which is known as the oldest agricultural research office in Nepal, established in 2004, is increasing every year. "We have formally informed the Nepal Agricultural Research Council about this problem," he said. Yadav claims that despite the lack of manpower, the center has actively worked on seed growth and revenue growth this year. He said that this year, the center is promoting the use of technology in research by establishing Narc Technology Village in Saptari.
Nepal Agricultural Research Council currently has an extreme shortage of staff, he said. "Currently, there are 1,823 posts in the council, but half of them, i.e. less than 900, have manpower," he said.
