The road division office Chandranigahpur is in a dilemma whether to terminate the contract of the bridge under construction without working as per the contract or to let the contractor join the work. The road division, which is tired of repeatedly extending the deadline due to the contract of dozens of bridges, is not working as per the contract.

Because the bridge could not be built on time, the locals put a tarpaulin under the under-construction bridge and went on a hunger strike. The road division contractor is going to cheat after the contractor started saying "Yes, I will do the work". There is a situation where the contractor can't do the work. It is found that the division office is making many efforts to get him to work.
After the bridge on the way to Gandatar has been stuck for a long time, the locals have been on hunger strike, cordoned off the office and submitted a memorandum. Pappu Construction of Birgunj and Shivshankar JV of Rautahat, which have got many construction contracts, have taken the contract of 5 bridges in Rautahat . The work of all of them is stalled . Pappu/Shivashankar JV of Chandi Nadi Bridge located in Chandrapur-3 has won contract number 53 for 25 crores 36 lakhs 24 thousand . He had to make a written agreement on 31st June 2074 and finish the construction of the bridge on 31st June 2076. Even after 8 years, the bridge has not been built. According to the road division, he has worked only 75 percent during this period.
Similarly, Pappu/Shivashankar also got the contract for the construction of Gujrakhola, Brahmatol, Kotihar Bridge, which was signed on 26th June 2073. According to the road division, only 60 percent of the work of this bridge has been done in 9 years. The construction work was supposed to be completed on 15 October 2075. Tarhari Khala Bridge Piparia Dostia has been signed on October 6, 2073 and only 45 percent work has been done so far.
It is mentioned in the contract to be completed on May 27, 2075. Laukaha river bridge multiple bridge was also signed in 2073 . Its physical progress is 55 percent. Division chief Karna complained that the contractor could not complete all the bridges despite extending the deadline time and again. Chief Karna says that the work has been affected due to the negligence of the contractor as well as the government not being able to allocate enough budget for the construction. Dayaram Sah, the builder of the silver bridge, said that he could not do the construction work due to financial crisis.
Sah, who took the contract for the bridge in Pappusit's JV, is now in discussion for leaving the work stalled . A year ago, the local people along with the public representatives used to criticize the contractor Sah wherever he met them, saying that there was a delay in the construction work. The contractor started the work for some time and now has stopped and kept silent.
In Rautahat, the locals have been staging a hunger strike, chakkajam, and gheraoing the office, saying that the contract for the bridge has not been worked. Chandi Pul and Gaur Municipality-4 Tikulia bridge were not built on time and the locals were forced to go on hunger strike. On June 29, 2071, Pappu Construction, which had awarded the contract for Lalbakaiya Bridge at Tikulia for 1493,270,000 rupees, was supposed to complete the construction on June 25, 2075. After Pappu left the bridge stranded, the department signed a contract with Azad Dipu JV for 27 million 66 million to complete the rest of the bridge construction work on 9th October 2080 . But although the construction was supposed to be completed on 1st Chait 2081, Azad Dipu JV did not proceed with much work because the government did not allocate the budget.
It has been 14 years since the foundation stone of Wagmati Badharwa Bridge connecting Sarlahi located in Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-5 of Rautahat has been laid. Lumbini Builders and Pappu Construction signed a joint contract for the construction of this bridge for 35 crore 89 lakh 9 thousand 433 rupees to complete the construction within three years on 31st June 2067 i.e. 30th June 2070. Lumbini Builders unilaterally broke the contract on February 9, 2071 saying that this bridge was not in working condition. Then the Directorate of Postal Highways Kathmandu canceled the contract of Lumbini Builders and called for the contract for the second time . Mahalakshmi, Vikas, YP JV awarded the contract for 574 million rupees 77 thousand rupees along with river control work in 2 thousand 241 meters length. Although the contractor signed an agreement on November 10, 2081 to complete the work on May 11, 2079, only 20 percent progress has been made in the construction of the bridge.
Jhaj river bridge connecting Katharia, although Apex Rabi JV signed the contract on 19 June 2075, the road division has informed that only 55 percent physical progress has been made in the period of 7 years. The last time the deadline has been extended, the road has said that it should be completed by the end of June. Diva/Niagara/Lakshmanrekha JV, which got the contract for the Jhajh River Mithua Bridge, has completed only 51% of the work in 4 years, despite signing the contract on 12th January 2078. The bridge, which was supposed to be completed on January 12, 2080, is still stuck.
