When planting is nearing, salt trading corporation and agricultural material company's urea fertilizer has started entering through Birganj channel.
Urea imported through global tender by these two institutes of the country, which is responsible for fertilizer supply, has gradually started entering.
The current supplier of urea to both institutes is Sun International. A rack of salt, urea fertilizer brought by Sun has arrived at the Sirsia dry port in Birganj on Tuesday . According to Amoz Lamichhane, Head of Madhesh Provincial Office Birgunj of Salt Trading, under this consignment of 18 thousand tons, Birgunj Regional Office will receive 7 thousand 650 tons of fertilizer . Bhairahawa regional office will get 5 thousand 100 and Biratnagar office will get 5 thousand 250 tons of fertilizer. Birganj and Bhairahawa's manure is entering through Birganj Naka.
Lamichhane said that since planting is nearing, the fertilizer will meet the demand of local farmers to a large extent. "We have just mobilized the urea fertilizer from the previous consignment," he said, "now the fertilizer from this consignment will meet the demand for fertilizer to a large extent." He said that a railway rack carrying urea fertilizer from Kolkata port had already left for Birganj on Monday.
By Thursday, this rail rack will arrive at the border Indian city of Raxaul railway station, said Singh. Singh said that 21,500 tons of urea fertilizer will be imported from this consignment. Birganj, Bhairahawa and Biratnagar regional offices will get share from this mall.
The company is importing 30,000 tons of urea from the previous consignment of 30,000 tons. Among them, 15,000 tons of urea has been imported in 6 railway racks through Birgunj and the rest is in the process of being imported, said Singh. This consignment is inland from Biratnagar too .
Singh said that with the old and new fertilizers coming in, urea fertilizers will be easily available in one and a half dozen districts of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces under the jurisdiction of the office. "It will be easy for us to supply fertilizer to the farmers when urea fertilizer is introduced before planting," he said.
