A motorcyclist died after being hit by a tractor in Shambhunath Municipality-1 Govinda Chowk of Saptari. The accident took place on the East-West highway on Tuesday evening.
The tractor No. 1 4972 going towards Shambhunath hit the motorcycle No. 2-01-001 P 3135 coming from the opposite direction. 25-year-old Md. Azad Mian of Rupani Rural Municipality-1, who was seriously injured in the accident, was brought to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital for treatment.
SP Dhakendra Khatiwada informed that he died during treatment. 18-year-old Samir Mian of the same place, who was riding behind the accident motorcycle, also got serious injuries on his hands, legs and head.
He has been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for further treatment after treatment at Unique Hospital. The tractor driver, Kailash Kumar Yadav of Shambhunath Municipality-1, has been taken into custody and further investigation into the accident is underway, police said.
