The main defendant of the robbery incident that took place two years ago at the office of Gorkhaj Finance in Dhangadhimai Municipality-11, Chhapradi, Siraha, has been arrested.
The main defendant of the dacoity, 45-year-old Sridev Mahato of Lahan Municipality-20, was arrested.
Mahato was arrested from Bariyarpatti rural municipality-3 Chamar tol on Saturday evening while hiding, according to District Police Office, Siraha. He was produced in the Sirha District Court, Siraha Police Spokesperson Birendra Kumar Paswan said.
A group including Mahato entered the Gorkhaz Finance office wearing a niqab on the night of 14th Chait 2079 at around 12 midnight. They beat up the employees living on the lower floor of the office building with pistols and sharp weapons and also used drug needles and looted them.
They looted 2 lakh 57 thousand 279 rupees in cash and three mobile phones. Similarly, it is mentioned in the investigation report of the police that they vandalized the furniture of the office and caused a loss of 1 million 28 thousand 714 rupees.
In this incident, the police prosecuted 11 people under the title of theft, banditry, body hostage and organized crime. In which three people have already been arrested. Two of them are in jail and one was released on bail.
