Rautahat's Rajpur Municipality has passed the policy program and budget for the upcoming financial year 2082/83.
Rajpur has become the first municipality in the district to hold a dispute-free town meeting this time. Rajpur was the first to present a budget of 57 crores in the town assembly.
In the Ninth Municipal Assembly, inclusive development at the local level for a prosperous city and happy residents, conducting smart classrooms in schools, starting a campaign to plant trees for environmental protection, empowering women along with digital administration, arranging employment for the youth in the city, and arranging irrigation to raise the living standards of farmers have been mentioned in the policies and programs. City chief Dr. Mohammad Rajik Alam announced to make a prosperous city through the budget of the next financial year.
Chief Alam said that the building of 15 Shyako Nagar Hospitals will be constructed and put into operation by the end of Kartik of the next financial year. In the policy and program, it is mentioned that the municipality will make mayor with senior citizen, mayor with patient, educational competition with mayor, reduction of child labor and child marriage free municipality.
There is a provision in the Act that all local levels must complete the Municipal Assembly within the 10th of June of every year for the planning of the current financial year . The local level should bring a budget for the current fiscal year 2082/83 through the city assembly. This is the reason why there is a constitutional provision for the current fiscal year to be held on the 10th of June. The proposed budget should be passed by the majority of members by the end of June. If the assembly cannot be held, the Office of Finance and Control cannot release the budget. This affects development and construction work. Employees don't even get salary .
The revenue consultation committee meeting should be held and discussed before the city assembly. Then the committee decides on the programme. Before passing the expenditure budget of the next financial year, the municipal meeting should pass the policies and programs.
