He started business in Mahottari a few months ago along with Rajabhai of Saharghat. According to Bardibas area police office, it was discovered during the investigation that Sah had sent brown sugar to Kathmandu by hiding it in sacks of rice along with retail sales in Jaleshwar.
He runs a gold and silver business in Jaleshwar. Under the guise of this, he expanded the drug trade from India to Kathmandu.
18 cases related to drugs in 11 months
On Thursday evening, among the 19 people who were detained at the Bardibas area police office, 16 people including Saha, who was arrested with brown sugar, were accused of drug cases.
The custody cell of the Bardibas area police office is small and due to the lack of sufficient evidence for investigation, the number of drug addicts and minors who are handed over to their parents is increasing day by day . Vikas Bam, Deputy Superintendent of Police of Bardibas District Police Office, said that those who are caught repeatedly taking drugs are kept in correctional centers.
Bardibas Police has registered 18 drug cases in the last 11 months. In just one month, 13 businessmen have been arrested in 9 cases. After Deputy Superintendent of Police Bikas Bam came as the Head of Area Police Office Bardibas, 7 drug dealers, 5 brown heroin dealers and 1 person with 17 bottles of other drugs were arrested from Bardibas.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bam said that since it was not possible from Bardibas due to lack of manpower and resources, they are trying to control drug smuggling by giving information to Sindhuli Police. There is no place to keep the drug addicts who are arrested, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bam said, "Selling and consuming drugs in Bardibas has become the same thing." How many will be arrested? The pressure to release the arrested consumers is unbearable . I have started sending the addicts to the correctional center instead of keeping them in police custody.' He said that it is a challenge to break the drug network in Bardibas only through awareness and action.
According to Shailendra Kumar Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Mahottari, 71 people have been arrested in 53 drug cases in Mahottari in the last 11 months. 17 motorcycles, 4 trucks, Pickup 1, Car 2, Ambulance 1 and Scorpio 1 have been recovered by the police.
