When a team of 5 employees led by Shambhu Sahashihit, head of Birgunj branch office of Drug Administration Department went to monitor a drug store located in Rajpur Municipality-4 of Rautahat on 5th June, they had to face resistance from the locals there. Two officials of the office were injured when the women attacked them with hooting.

On that day, when a team including an inspector of Nepal Police and a monitoring team including employees of the district administration office arrived, they had to become victims of the anger of the locals.

A year and a half ago, the staff felt insecure while going to Sarlahi during monitoring.

He claimed that even though the morale of the employees has dropped somewhat due to the incident in Rautahat, they are committed to work in the field. "That incident has lowered the morale of the employees," he said.

Apart from Saptari and Siraha in Madhesh, this office has 6 districts and Chitwan, Makwanpur and Sindhuli in Bagmati province and it is supposed to monitor 450 drug stores in the current fiscal year. Even if the annual target is met, the office will have to monitor 40 more drug stores in the remaining 40 days of the financial year.
