When a team of 5 employees led by Shambhu Sahashihit, head of Birgunj branch office of Drug Administration Department went to monitor a drug store located in Rajpur Municipality-4 of Rautahat on 5th June, they had to face resistance from the locals there. Two officials of the office were injured when the women attacked them with hooting.
On that day, when a team including an inspector of Nepal Police and a monitoring team including employees of the district administration office arrived, they had to become victims of the anger of the locals.
A year and a half ago, the staff felt insecure while going to Sarlahi during monitoring.
office chief Sah has felt the risk of an attack on the staff in the rural areas and especially in the border villages due to the unexpected incident in Rautahat. "This is not a problem in urban areas," Shah said, "but in rural areas and especially in border villages, employees may be unsafe." In this way, if there is no security system for the employees going to the monitoring, there is a possibility that the monitoring work itself may be affected.
He claimed that even though the morale of the employees has dropped somewhat due to the incident in Rautahat, they are committed to work in the field. "That incident has lowered the morale of the employees," he said.
