15-year-old Rajesh Kumar Yadav, who was injured in an accident in Bode Barsain Municipality-5 under the Hulaki highway, has not been able to be discharged from the hospital because he could not pay the medical expenses. He was injured when a Scorpio of Rajviraj Municipality, numbered 1 Jh 481, which was going towards Janakpur, hit a motorcycle numbered 30 P 2737 on Tuesday morning, January 1st.

Along with him, another 21-year-old Ajit Kumar Yadav was also injured in the accident. As he suffered minor injuries, he returned home within a few days after the accident. However, the seriously injured Rajesh was admitted to Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar for further treatment. Now, even though he has recovered, he has not been able to return home as he is unable to pay the hospital and pharmacy bills.

The victim's family and their relatives, who are pleading for justice, stopped the work of the municipal office on Sunday. Before the office opened on Sunday, the employees could not enter the office due to hunger strike at the main gate. The victim's family and their relatives have cooked and eaten food at the place of hunger strike, but they have taken a stand to continue the hunger strike until they get the medical expenses.  

Acting City Chief Israt Pravin, who came to the hunger strike site on Sunday evening, requested to postpone the hunger strike and promised to try to discharge Rajesh by paying the hospital and pharmacy bills. Rajesh's father, Raghunath Yadav, said that when Rajesh was treated in the ICU for 38 days, the hospital and pharmacy bills totaled 27 lakh rupees. "The son's arms and legs have been ironed and the doctor has already asked to discharge him two months ago by taking him home and doing physical exercise," he said. We did not have the ability to pay and could not be discharged.'  

Keeping his wife Shantidevi under the care of his son, Raghunath started running to the municipal office to demand medical expenses. Raghunath expressed his sorrow that he had received 2 lakh rupees while meeting the Acting City Chief Israt Praveen several times, but he was reluctant to pay the remaining amount. "As per the advice of the villagers, I started a relay hunger strike here from last Wednesday," he said. "He may not have been discharged without paying the bill," he said. Kedar Pokharel, manager of the hospital, said that he is out of the country and can give information about the patient only tomorrow (Monday).
