Naveen Kumar Yadav, mayor of Sirha municipality, has warned that journalists who write news against him will face dire consequences. Mayor Yadav issued a video message on Tuesday and gave this warning.

A team from the office of the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission in Bardibas raided the municipality on Monday. According to authority sources, documents such as revenue collection, pool contract, audit report and other documents have been seized from the municipality.

The information officer of Bardibas authority, Tulsiram Poudel, confirmed it and the media published news about it. However, Mayor Yadav has warned journalists that this is unbridled propaganda. "If someone writes against my municipality, I am not afraid of it. Journalists should be afraid," he said in the video.

He warned that journalists who write against him in this way will be punished and fined. 'I want to warn you, don't write against my municipality during my tenure,' he said, 'I will have to go ahead to give heavy fines and punishments to those who do this.'

The media workers of Siraha have protested against this expression of Mayor Yadav. Manoj Banaita, President of Nepal Journalist Federation, Siraha, said that the mayor's irresponsible and threatening warning was objectionable.

'I watched the Mayor's video, his expression is objectionable, unforgivable, it is the height of ignorance and arrogance,' President Banaita told Kantipur, 'The federation will take necessary steps in this matter.'
